Called to Preach is a class designed for those taking the required courses to become Certified Lay Servants, Lay Speakers, or Certified Lay Ministers. It also qualifies as an Advanced class for anyone needing recertification.

The participant's book for the class is From Pew to Pulpit by Clifton F. Guthrie and must be read before the class begins.

Led by:  Pastor Ray W. Bailor. The book is ordered and paid for by participants in advance.

The Lay Servant Ministries Basic Course

In Person Only

Friday, Sept. 18: 6:30-9pm & Saturday, Sept. 19: 9am-5pm 

Hosted by Sprucetown UMC 

177 Upper Georges Valley Road, Spring Mills

Course topics such as servant and spiritual leadership, caring ministries, and sharing your faith will enhance your understanding about the church, your role in it and enhance leadership skills!  

You will need to purchase and read through the Basic Course Participant’s Book. Available from Amazon, Christianbook, and Cokesbury. Plan to bring a bag lunch for the Saturday session. Refrigeration is available. Light snacks, water and coffee provided.
