ADVANCED LAY SPEAKER COURSE: ONLINE HISTORY AND POLITY

We don’t know who we are if we don’t know where we came from. This course will look at a brief history of the UMC and then the structure and organization of the UMC. This course suffices the United Methodist Polity Course.

Called to Preach is a class designed for those who have not completed formal preaching training, for pastors seeking a basic refresher course, and

for others who are called upon to preach in a pastor’s absence. The participant book for the class is From Pew to Pulpit by Clifton F. Guthrie

and must be read before the class.

Led by: Pastor Ray W. Bailor. There is no cost to participate in the class.

BASIC COURSE - LEADING WORSHIP

An advanced class for those who lead the worship service. The class will :

Explain basic resources for planning and leading worship.
Give the basic pattern of UM worship and its origins.
Give practical suggestions on how to renew and revitalize worship.
Help you be an effective leader in planning and revitalizing worship.
Help you understand and communicate the uniqueness of UM worship.
Help you lead a congregation into a deeper and richer experience of God through worship.

The class will be held via ZOOM. Please have a camera and a microphone available to participate in the class.
